ABOUT THE SHOW: It’s 1959. Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical slated for the bright lights of Broadway. When the hapless leading lady mysteriously dies on stage the entire cast & crew are suspects. Enter local detective Lieutenant Frank Cioffi who is desperate to conduct a thorough investigation, however, the lure of the theatre proves irresistible and after an unexpected romance blossoms for the stage-struck detective he finds himself just as much drawn to making the show a hit as he is to solving the murder…or murders.

 

The show is written by the legendary musical writing duo Kander & Ebb, most famous for penning Chicago, Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Steel Pier, Fosse, The Scottsboro Boys and many more. The show ran on Broadway starring David Hyde Pierce who picked up a Tony Award for “Best Actor”, whilst the show was nominated for eight Tony Awards including “Best Musical”.

  • Preparation and distribution of royalty statements;

  • Negotiation and contracting of third-party Certified Accountants.

As commercial producers working extensively in the UK touring sector, DLAP has strong relationships with every major theatre in the UK, as well as smaller 'b' venues and studios. Our tour booking services include:

 

  • Liaising with producer/s to identify target theatres and dates;
  • Negotiation of financial deals with venues;
  • Advice on venue settlements and contras;
  • Contracting venues.

DLAP offers bespoke general management services to a variety of productions including West End musicals and plays, large and mid-scale touring productions and smaller productions including fringe and immersive shows. DLAP ensures that all productions are realised on time and budgets are adhered to. Our services include:

 

  • Financial management and budgeting;
  • Organising and attending production meetings;
  • Management of workshops and readings;
  • Negotiation and contracting of creative team;
  • Negotiation and contracting of company (cast, stage management, production staff);
  • Co-ordination of casting process;
  • Overseeing physical production (set, costumes, props, wigs) build and construction sourcing;
  • Negotiating and contracting orchestra and orchestra fixer;
  • Marketing and press campaign management;
  • Travel and accommodation booking;
  • Liaison with all members of the company pre-rehearsals and during holiday breaks;
  • Liaison with all members of the creative team;
  • Sourcing of and liaison with Production Manager;
  • Organising transportation of equipment to and from rehearsals and venues;
  • Rehearsal schedules and co-ordination;
  • Disciplinary proceedings;
  • Press night/opening night co-ordination and management;
  • Insurance procurement;
  • Working closely with the Production Accountant on: payroll, settlements, production accounts and tax relief claims;
  • Merchandising management;
  • Profit and loss projections;
  • Visiting the production to support production staff on the ground;
  • Day-to-day management of the production;
  • Responding to all technical difficulties or emergencies;
  • Advice on transfers and future production models.
